In the year of 1944, namely during the famine years of the second world war, Üstün Erek was born in Tokat. In spite of this, he has been nourished very well, and consequently now we have a robust man as you see in the picture above. Do not be cheated by the dark color of his moustache, just between you and me, he dyes it every week. Üstün is married and the father of a son who is mastering in aircraft engineering. He wears a red-colored necktie as a symbol of his inclination to philandering, for no good, because his wife is a policewoman , and you will not belive me, she has a gun. Working as a vice-director in financial affairs of Turkish Railways. He is a part-time trainer in swimming too. He owes his healthy appearance to this occupation.
If we put joking aside, Üstün is one of the prominent collectors of islamic coins, in Turkey. He is a class-mate of mine from high school. I have lost him for years after the high school. But coin collecting brought us together again after many years. His field of primary interest is Seljuqs of Rum, Ottomans, Artukids and Anatolian Beyliks.
