During the reign of Mongke Khan Ilkhanids dynasty was established in Iran by his brother Hulagu.  The dynasty of Great Khans was continued with Khubilai Khan "Kubilay Han" as the Yuen dynasty with almost no effective control outside China and Mongolia.
