To write and read with Arabic characters

1-) If you have an “Arabic keyboard”, “Arabic Windows” and an “Arabic word processor”, you can easily write Arabic texts for your personal purposes.  But the other people, who do not have similar facilities and necessary fonts installed in their systems, can not read what you have written.

2-) Threre are some softwares, for reasonable prices, like “Pars Neggar”.  With such kind of softwares, you can use your normal “Windows” and normal “keyboard”.  They use on-screen keyboards.  So, you can write by clicking your mouse.  But the same font problem is valid also here.

3-) You can download some free Arabic fonts from internet and a software named “Keyboard Manager”.  With these, you can write Arabic by using your normal keyboard.  Again the special fonts problem is in front of us.

4-) This method needs nothing but what you already have.  This method is a little bit hard but works wery well.  You and your reader must not have any special hard- or software.  It uses normal fonts already installed in your system.  But you can not use them by stroking your keyboard. Here is what and how to do:

All I am telling here valid for a set including "Windows 98", "Microsoft Word 2000", "Microsoft Outlook Express 5.01" and "Microsoft Frontpage 2000".

* Open “Microsoft Word”

* Left-click “insert” (My “Windows 98” and “Microsft Word” are Turkish and I might not know what you are exactly seeing on your screen).

After you see examples press your backspace button

* Now you have got a line written with Arabic characters.  You can copy and paste it anywhere you want.  If you paste it into your e-mail, you will have such a thing.

* After you press "send" button you will see a screen like this.  Send it as "unicode"
